Isone grove, Tuscany

The Grove

Welcome to Isone.

Isone lies between Osteria Nuova and Antella, a hillside landscape of forest, wild vegetation, and abandoned olive trees.

The land spans just over seven acres at approximately 189 meters above sea level, with full sun exposure and a natural water source that supports future cultivation.

As we began to explore the grove, traces of its earlier life slowly emerged, grapevines growing among olive and fruit trees, and the remains of an old stone wall that may once have formed part of a Roman aqueduct. Together, these details point to a more biodiverse and cultivated past still present beneath the surface of the land.

Isone grove restoration

Restoration

Isone represents a future stage of restoration within Abandoned Grove.

The long-term vision is to bring the existing trees back into care and gradually introduce new plantings of traditional Tuscan cultivars suited to the grove's natural conditions.

Restoration has not yet begun. Work is currently paused while local approvals and long-term planning continue, ensuring that any future intervention respects both the character of the land and the history it still holds.

When the time comes, Isone will enter the same long process of rejuvenation that defines the groves already under our care.
