A year with us, followed in My Grove: founder letters, harvest notes, recipes from chefs, and invitations to tastings, dinners and gatherings. After harvest, two 500 ml bottles from their tree’s grove, with tasting notes by Fil Bucchino. Their certificate on reveal day, and a nameplate on their tree with two and three year gifts, or when one is added to a one year gift.

One year is $225, two years are $450 and three years are $675. A nameplate is optional on one year gifts, for $65, and included with two and three year gifts. Paid once. Nothing renews unless you choose it.

You choose the reveal date. On that day we email them your message, their certificate and the location of their tree, and their year with us begins. Prefer to hand it to them? Once your gift is confirmed, a printable card with a QR code is ready in My Grove.

The harvest is in the autumn. Gift by December 31 and their bottles come from this year’s harvest, whatever reveal date you choose. Nothing ships before they’ve opened their gift. If you haven’t given us their address, they add it in My Grove on reveal day.

It’s cut from olive wood reclaimed from our groves and dried slowly until it’s stable, so it won’t crack. Federica engraves your words by hand and seals it with a paint that’s safe for the grove, before it’s mounted at their tree. This takes about three to four weeks. When it’s in place, we photograph it, add it to My Grove and email you. If it’s ready before reveal day, it waits there for them.

The tree and its oil are added to what they already have. No second account.

Yes. Complete one gift for each tree. Each comes with two bottles from its grove after harvest. Gifting to forty people or more? See Grove Custodianship below.

Nothing renews on its own. Near the end of the gift, we ask you first. If you don’t continue, we invite them to continue with the same tree.

No. Root Membership is complete in itself.

The harvest is in the autumn. Guard a tree by December 31 and your first bottles come from this harvest, usually arriving early in the new year. Join after December 31 and they come from the next one.

Membership renews each year. Cancel anytime before renewal. It runs to the end of the paid year, and any oil already allocated to you still arrives. If a price changes, we tell you before your renewal.

Yes, within 7 days of joining or gifting, as long as no member benefit has been used and no tree has been assigned. Buying a release at member prices counts as a benefit.

No. We assign your tree once you join, wherever one is available. When a Guardian leaves, their tree becomes available again, in any grove. On the first day, you see exactly where yours stands.

No. Guardianship connects you to a specific tree and its grove for as long as you continue. Abandoned Grove cares for the tree and the land.

Yes. Guardians and gift recipients are welcome to visit their tree and walk the grove where it stands. Visits are hosted and arranged in advance. Write to us at community@abandonedgrove.com. You can also come to see your nameplate, or take it home to keep.

One Grove Reserve is the Guardians’ oil: two 500 ml bottles every harvest, drawn from the grove where their tree stands. Founder’s Reserve is Fil Bucchino’s selection from the early harvest, made since 2009, with a new label each year and sold by the case of six. Community Reserve comes from trees kept in our care rather than assigned, tended exactly like the others. Every drop of ours comes from the groves in our care; we never bring in oil from anywhere else.

No. One tree can’t be extracted on its own. Your bottles are drawn from the grove where your tree stands. If the grove gives less in a year, we make up the difference from Community Reserve, the oil all our groves hold together, so a hard season never reaches a Guardian’s table empty.

Two 500 ml bottles every harvest. Two bottles is about what a restored Tuscan tree gives in a year when harvested for quality. Yours are guaranteed.

Both bottles are yours. If you’d like to give one back, write to us. We send you one bottle, and the other goes to the people who work the land, theirs to use or to sell.

Yes. Founder’s Reserve and Community Reserve are open to everyone when a release is available. Members are served first, at member prices with shipping included. One Grove Reserve comes only with a tree.

Our oil follows the harvest, not a calendar. Founder’s Reserve opens with the early harvest. Community Reserve opens once the season’s oil is ready and Guardians are counted. Members hear first.

The grove, the care and the standard stay the same, so the oil keeps its character from year to year. The season brings the subtle differences: the weather, and the day each variety is ready. Fil’s tasting notes come with every box.

Every harvest, by certified laboratories. Our peroxides average under a third of what the international standard allows, and our polyphenols are about twice the level required for the EU health claim. No pesticide residue has ever been detected.

It’s for companies, families and groups gifting to forty people or more. Your trees stand together in one section of a grove, marked with a nameplate carrying your name. We choose the section, with your preferences in mind. Each year you decide who receives each tree, and we bring the oil to every door.

All your trees sit in your My Grove. Assign each one to the person you choose, or tell us and we’ll do it. They receive a year with their tree and see it, and only it, in My Grove. At the end of the year it comes back to you, to give again.

From 100 trees, we can create a label for you.

Since 2014, the groves have offered work to people rebuilding their lives: people facing mental health challenges, in addiction recovery, or returning after incarceration. Fifty-seven people have worked with us, about 4,000 hours a year.

LIFE Olivares Vivos+, an independent research programme, measures biodiversity in our groves. In 2025 it counted 49 bird, 25 spider, 18 ant, 12 bat and 8 pollinator species.
