Balatro

The Grove
Welcome to Balatro.
Between the communities of Antella and Grassina, this traditional Tuscan grove unfolds across gently varied terrain at approximately 200 meters above sea level with a northeast exposure.
Spanning over seventeen acres, Balatro is home to 975 olive trees, primarily Frantoio, Moraiolo, and Leccino, alongside Pendolino and Olivo Bianco.
Its varied microclimates and elevation create conditions that consistently produce oils with structure, balance, and depth.

Restoration
Abandoned Grove began caring for Balatro in 2009.
The grove had gradually fallen out of cultivation on land historically connected to the Vicchi Finzi family, part of a landscape once maintained through generations of agricultural work. What began as an effort to restore a single grove soon expanded as adjacent parcels were brought back into care in the years that followed.
Balatro holds particular significance within the history of Abandoned Grove. In 2011, oils from this grove produced the region's first monocultivar Leccino, a milestone that reflected our commitment to quality, vision, and the possibilities held within traditional Tuscan varieties.
Today, Balatro remains one of the defining landscapes under our care.
