Welcome to Osteria
Nestled beneath the 13th-century San Quirico e Giulitta, a Ruballa church, Osteria Grove offers a stunning panoramic view of Brunelleschi’s world-renowned Cupola in Florence. It is home to 262 resilient Moraiolo olive trees that the Diocese abandoned around 25 years ago after a devastating fire.
Our initial efforts at Osteria Grove were a labor of love, requiring extensive cleanup and careful pruning. After two years of dedicated care, the grove showed significant improvement. Still, we chose to delay the harvest for another year to allow the trees to fully regain their strength and vitality.
Finally, on October 26 and 27, 2023, the grove yielded its first harvest in nearly three decades. Despite the challenges, this harvest was a celebration made possible by the communal effort of our local Bagno a Ripoli community, our family members, and participants from our social agricultural program.
Today, Osteria Grove stands as a symbol of resilience and community effort.
