As we grow our impact our present production comes exclusively from rejuvenated groves in the hills surrounding Florence, Italy. Each oil is tied to its own micro-region and unique seasonal expression.

Abandoned Grove has rejuvenated over 5,000 trees in the hills of Florence, Italy, sustaining 64 acres of olive groves, engaging 56 social integration participants, completing 15 premium harvests, and supporting 13 local businesses and artisans.

Each membership lasts one year (unless specified as multi-year). You’ll receive renewal reminders ahead of the next harvest.

Yes. Members are welcome to visit, and we can help plan your grove visit through our Grove Concierge.

We offer options when available, and your Grove Concierge can help guide the selection. Once a grove is chosen, it becomes yours for as long as you remain a member. Groves are assigned based on availability and the areas that need the most support—but if you have a special request, just let us know. If we can make it happen, we will.

Memberships are limited to the number of trees in the rejuvenated groves. Should you decide not to renew, your tree will be released and made available for a new member.

The Family Membership allows you to secure 2 to 6 trees. Each tree is its own membership, with its own bottles and set of benefits—ideal for families, friends, or groups.

Yes. Our “Gift a Rescued Olive Tree” option includes, two bottles of oil, and full access to one year of member benefits.

Yes. Every gift includes a named tree with a personalized olive wood plate and certificate.

Yes. When you gift a tree, you’ll choose a Notification Date during checkout. On that date, we’ll send an email to both you and the recipient introducing the gift and welcoming them to the grove.

The email will share their role as the custodian of an olive tree for the harvest year, along with details about the grove, the mission, and what to expect throughout the harvest. Unlike our personal memberships, gifted trees do not auto-renew. After the year ends, the recipient will have the option to continue the legacy themselves if they’d like to sustain the tree moving forward.

We also monitor delivery of the message -- if it hasn’t been opened after a few days, we’ll follow up with both parties to make sure the gift is received.

We never push nature beyond its limits. Your membership ensures you receive your share of the harvest, but we always respect the natural output of each tree.

In the unlikely event that your tree or grove produces less than expected, we will notify you in advance. While some sections of our groves may experience a lower yield, others often produce slightly more. If necessary, we will offer you oil from another one of our rejuvenated groves, ensuring that every bottle remains grove-specific.

No matter what, your oil will always come from our carefully restored groves. You will be informed exactly which grove your oil comes from, maintaining full transparency and connection to the land.

We intentionally wait until closer to harvest season (October–November) to collect the recipient’s shipping address.

This approach allows us to:

• Ensure the olive oil is sent to the most up-to-date address, in case the recipient has moved.
• Respect the recipient’s privacy, especially if the gift giver doesn’t know — or doesn’t want to ask for — their address, preserving the surprise.

If you already know the recipient’s address and would like to share it early, you’re welcome to:

• Add it in the “Order Notes” section at checkout, or
• Reply to your order confirmation email with the details.

Closer to harvest, we’ll reach out to the recipient directly to confirm their preferred delivery address — so no matter what, the olive oil will be shipped exactly where it needs to go.

After placing your order, you’ll receive a confirmation — and on the notification date you selected, both you and the recipient will receive a beautifully crafted email introducing them to their adopted tree and welcoming them to the grove.

Since 2013, we’ve tracked the production of every tree across our rejuvenated groves. As more trees are brought back to life, new data is continually added—and benchmarked against local producers in the area and across Tuscany.

Prior to last year’s harvest, the average yield was 1.1 liters per tree. In the most recent harvest, that number averaged 0.98 liters.

With confidence, we can say: each tree produces approximately one liter—or two 500ml bottles—of extra virgin olive oil per year.

No. Each bottle reflects a unique harvest, influenced by microclimate, varietal, and season. No two years are ever the same. A great extra virgin is never repeated and cannot be found on a shelf.

Abandoned Grove members receive early access to limited releases and,when available, a Founder's Reserve allocation

Our grove-specific extra virgin olive oil is air-shipped shortly after harvest, typically between January and February. In between harvest and this time, the oil rests in temperature-controlled fusti under nitrogen to preserve freshness and integrity. We take great care to test, separate, and maintain the true origin of each grove—this process simply can’t be rushed.

Founder’s Reserve releases, being much smaller in quantity, arrive earlier—typically between late November and early December.

Regardless of delivery timing, full membership benefits remain active for one year from the date of enrollment.
