From Abandonment to Abundance
The only extra-virgin olive oil crafted with you, your kitchen, and the planet in mind. Join our mission to rescue abandoned groves and produce world-class, sustainable extra-virgin olive oil.
On average, an olive tree in a traditional Tuscan olive grove yields just two bottles of oil in a single harvest.
At Abandoned Grove for every bottle of extra virgin olive oil we produce, another is donated back to the community. Always.
By respecting the natural output of the tree, we nurture quality, artistry, producers, the community, and the land.
The elegance of patience, the impact of mindful consumption.
Getting what you want when you want is not sustainable.
Frankly, it’s bad manners, and we’re here to change it.
We don't just revive olive groves; we rejuvenate the very soul of the land, reinforcing bonds between nature, the community, and you.
Our guardianship (and yours) ensures these groves thrive through sustainable practices, safeguarding their legacy and productivity for generations.
Since 2014, we have launched social agriculture programs aimed at providing employment and training opportunities to individuals facing significant barriers. Over 56 exceptional individuals have participated in our programs, collectively contributing to 3,780 hours of work annually.
For every $1 received by Abandoned Grove, on average 49 cents are dedicated to driving positive change, increasing quality, and expanding the mission:
- 23% goes to rejuvenation and sustainment of olive groves and the activation of social integration programs
- 8% is spent on rigorous quality checks of our product, that go above and beyond the industry standard. Organoleptic testing by our network of professional tasters, master millers, certified panels and chemical labs.
- 17% directly supports producer's go-to-market initiatives, R&D, and education to drive transparency and mission expansion.
- 1-2% dedicated to additional support of environmental causes and community donations including our donation to 1% for the Planet.
*These numbers may change slightly depending on grove's geographical location and community needs.
The other ~ 51 cents is about a 50/50 split between supporting our team and covering product and operations costs.
