Why we moved to Memberships

Why we moved to Memberships

Why Membership, Why Now

Not all olive oil is created equal.

And real extra virgin olive oil?

It isn’t infinite. It isn’t stable.

It’s seasonal. It’s alive. It changes with the land, the weather, and the choices we make around both.

The higher the quality, the rarer it becomes.

Which is why we’ve made a clear decision: Abandoned Grove is no longer offering oil for individual sale. From now on, every bottle is protected by membership.

Not a subscription.

Not a club.

A membership—a structure that prioritizes quality over volume, and people over profit.

One that respects the oil, the land, and the hands behind both.

I recorded a short video to explain why this shift matters:

Abandoned Grove didn’t start as a business.

It began as a rebellion—sparked by two feelings:

A deep obsession with what real extra virgin olive oil can be

And heartbreak for the groves, and the people, being left behind.

We started slowly.

One abandoned grove. A few trees. A handful of people who knew what was at stake.

Today, over 5,000 trees have been brought back to life in the hills outside Florence.

And with each season, the mission becomes clearer:

Membership isn’t just about oil. It’s about restoration, about patience, about slowing down and rediscovering what's meaningful.

Here’s what that means:

Every membership is now tied to real trees in real groves.

Each tree supports, on average, two bottles per year.

And when the trees are spoken for, that grove closes.

No inventory. No restocks. No “while supplies last.”

The harvest belongs to the members who made it possible.

If you believe there’s a better way to have better oil, to care for the land, and each other

This is it.

Un abbraccio,
